hawkat Mahmood Toorawa (BA 1985, MA 1989, PhD, 1998, University of Pennsylvania) has been teaching Arabic Literature and Islamic Studies in Cornell's Department of Near Eastern Studies since the Summer of 2000. He serves on the Advisory Board of MECA. He is also advisor to the Arab Association at Cornell, a Faculty Fellow of Robert Purcell Community Center, and a teacher in the volunteer weekend Quran school run by his wife, Parvine. They have two daughters: Maryam (8) and Asiya (6). Back->
