"For the Bible Tells Me So" - Film Screening and Talk Back

Join us for a screening of the critically acclaimed film "For the Bible Tells Me So" and a talk back discussion to follow. This documentary examines the perceived conflict between Judeo-Christian religious texts and traditions with regard to homosexuality and highlights various interpretations of Biblical passages. This film utilizes interviews with clergy, scholars, parents, and persons from deeply religious communities, who all speak frankly about religion and sexual orientation, to offer insight into the intersection of faith and sexual orientation. Rev. Dr. Ken Clarke, director of Cornell United Religious Works, ("Work" is singular) and Matt Carcella, director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center, will lead the talk back discussion following the screening. The entire Cornell community is invited to this program regardless of faith/spiritual tradition or sexual orientation.

Sponsored by Cook House, Cornell United Religious Works (CURW), and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center and part of a series of programs highlighting CURW's 80th Anniversary.
