Jocelyn Getgen

Jocelyn Getgen,

Being the first of her family to graduate from college (Cornell ‘2000, College of Arts and Sciences) is one of the many distinctions Jocelyn has earned in the past decade. In 2007, she received her JD cum laude from Cornell Law School and a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins with a concentration on international human rights and humanitarian assistance. She was awarded the 2008 Freeman Award for Civil and Human Rights, the 2007 CALI Excellence for the Future Award from the Cornell International Human Rights Clinic, and the 2007 Capstone Award for Outstanding Work on Original Research.

Jocelyn’s passion for the law, international public health, human rights, and social justice deepened through her experiences in the Peace Corp in Ecuador, Safe Horizon’s Domestic Violence and Immigration Law Projects in NYC, the Praxis Institute for Social Justice in Peru, and the Center for Reproductive Rights’ International Legal Program in New York City. Currently, she serves as Women and Justice Fellow of the Avon Global Center for Women and Justice, and works with Cornell’s International Human Rights Clinic.
