Fr. Daniel T. McMullin |
Fr.
Daniel McMullin has a varied background in both the academic and pastoral
worlds. After graduating college he spent nearly sixteen years as a
monk of St. John's Abbey (Collegeville, MN). After earning a Master
of Divinity degree, he was ordained there in 1981. After earning a
doctorate from Eastman School
of Music (Rochester, NY) he taught on
the faculties of St. John's University (his Minnesota Alma Mater) and
Dominican University (River Forest, IL). Now as a priest of the Diocese
of Rochester, he has work in both urban and rural parishes. Besides
his obvious interest in music, Fr. McMullin continues to study in the
areas of Celtic and Monastic spirituality. |

Fr.
Robert S. Smith |
Fr. Smith
was a professor of philosophy at the Diocesan Seminary on Long Island
during the 1960's. He spent 22 years at the University of the State
of New York at Stony Brook, first as Catholic Chaplain and later establishing
the chaplaincy program at the University Medical Center. For the last
seven years at Stony Brook, he served as the founding Director of the
Institute for Medicine in Contemporary Society in the School of Medicine.
Before coming to Cornell, he directed a project on Long Island developing
interfaith conversations about religion and contemporary culture. |

Sister Donna Fannon, MHSH, was born in Massachusetts and since 1979 has been a member of the Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, an order of religious sisters based in Baltimore. Sister Donna studied physics at Merrimack College and theology at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore. Prior to joining the Mission Helpers she worked in the electric power industry and taught physics and mathematics on the secondary level. She has been involved with campus ministry since 1975 when she served as a volunteer with the Newman Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and lived in a community house sponsored by the Newman Center. She joined the Cornell Catholic Community staff in 1994. Sister Donna focuses her attention on the Journey of Faith, a program for those interested in becoming Catholic This program includes Cornell students, staff and faculty preparing for Baptism and Confirmation as well as "cradle Catholics" who want to update their understanding of Catholicism or serve as sponsors. She enjoys being with students as they rediscover, or discover for the first time, the treasures of the Catholic Tradition. She is also interested in spiritual growth, the interface of science and theology, and feminist theology. Trained as a spiritual director, she particularly enjoys helping students explore spirituality and prayer. Sister Donna enjoys bicycling, hiking and camping. She has led summer long bicycle trips across North America and Europe. She also plays the violin, enjoying everything from Beethoven to bluegrass. |

Mary grew up in Iowa and studied
political science at the University of Washington, graduating in 1982. Before
arriving in Ithaca in 1998, Mary lived in Seattle and her children Nicholas,
Daniel, Arturo and Genevieve were born there. Prior to joining Cornell
Catholic Community in September 2006, Mary worked with the Shoals
Marine Laboratory at Cornell University and Family and Children's Service
of Ithaca. |

Laura
Armstrong |
Laura was born in Springfield, MA, but grew up just west of Philadelphia, PA in a town called Malvern. For the past 12 years, she has called Ithaca home. As choir director for the parish, she works with over 25 student volunteers in coordinating cantors, accompanists, singers and instrumentalists. Laura joined the Cornell Catholic team in 1998 and, after taking a couple years off to complete her master’s degree, is now completing her 5th year as a part-time staff member with the group. Laura is also a full time staff member for the university
and currently works in Alumni Affairs & Development as the Assistant
Director of Alumni Affairs for the Johnson Graduate School of Management. Previously,
she served as a Program Director within the Department of Campus Life. Laura’s other interests include hiking, ice skating, organic gardening and composting, travel, salsa dancing and really good dry red wines. |

Caroline was born in Canada and grew up in a small town 60 miles south of Montreal. While attending college in the States, she met her then future husband (Allen) and later married and moved to the US. She has been in Administration for most of her working career and for the last ten years in Academia. Caroline has found that working at Cornell Catholic Community has been an extremely rewarding and spiritual experience. She has been working here for the last three years as our Business Office Manager. In her spare time (what spare time?), Caroline spends it with her husband and very demanding but absolutely adorable four-year old son Avery. Caroline also enjoys reading, gardening and traveling. |
